What does your Facebook profile say about you?

As you upload photos and status updates to sites like Facebook and Twitter, remember, people are watching you. Most people do not think about any potential negative consequences from posting to social networking sites. However, more and more teens are suffering consequences in the real world due to postings done in the cyber world.

A side note #1: This year, UGA locker room was robbed by recruits. Police figured out which recruit it was after the recruit tweeted about ipods to sell.

A side note #2: In 2000 or 2001, Penn State beat Ohio State at home in the fall football season. There is a law against rushing the field. Students rushed the field. Police used facebook to track down who rushed the field so they could issue tickets. Students who rushed the field had either taken their picture on the field or posted in the group "I rushed the field and here is my photo on the field".

Georgia Military Scholarships Available through North GA College

This scholarship requires the recipient to commission as a second lieutenant in the Georgia Army National Guard upon graduating from North Georgia. It is for students who want to remain in Georgia after college, get full time civilian jobs or continue with post graduate education, and serve part time in uniform. Annual salary for a Guard lieutenant is about $7,500 per year.

Because the scholarship requires the recipient to enlist in the GaARNG and serve as an enlisted soldier while they are a Cadet at North Georgia, they actually earn $30,000 to $40,000 from the Guard, VA and ROTC - money they don't need for college since college is paid for by the scholarship.

This scholarship is for seniors who are in excellent physical condition, have above a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and have SAT scores of a minimum of 440 math and 480 critical reading.
These are full scholarships that pay for room, meals, tuition, fees, books and uniforms for all four years at North Georgia College & State University - a Senior Military College.

Cyberbullying Prevention

Cyberbullying Prevention for Parents

Bullying is widespread and perhaps the most under reported safety problem on American school campuses. Contrary to popular belief, bullying occurs more often at school and in the victim’s digital environment. Once thought of as simply a rite of passage or relatively harmless behavior that helps build young people's character, bullying is now known to have long-lasting harmful effects, for both the victim and the bully.
