September College Visits

Hey Seniors! The colleges are below are coming soon to visit with you and answer all your questions about their college/university. If the colleges are going to be in the Cafeteria, you do not need a pass. If they are going to be in the Depot, you need to get a pass from Mrs. Stickland in the counseling office (300 building).

Other important September meetings:

Gates Millinium and Asian, Pacific Islander Scholarship meeting will be held on September 14 in Room 202 at 10:15. You will need a pass to attend this meeting.

HOPE Scholarship Information Session

Hey students,

Are you confused about the HOPE scholarship? If so, you are invited to attend an information session at Georgia State University. This session will be led by the Regional Grassroots Leadership Council. The session will be held on September 17, 2011 from 10 am - 2 pm and lunch will be provided.

Multicultural Experience Weekend at Sewanee

This FREE opportunity provides seniors a chance to interview with admissions counselors, attend classes, learn about the college community, etc over a three day visit. This is held every November and is an invitation only event. The University of the South is about 45 minutes outside of Chattanooga, TN. You must apply by October 4, 2011 and complete the Common Application by November 7, 2011.

Quest Bridge Scholarship Opportunity

Hey Seniors,

Are you an excellent student who comes from a family with low income? If so you could qualify for the QuestBridge scholarship. These scholarships offer full tuition and even cover room and board. Act fast becasue the deadline is September 30, 2011.

Make a video and WIN a scholarship!

Hey guys,

ACT is hosting a video contest and you could win up to $5,000 in scholarship money. You must create a video (less than 3 mintues) about why students should take the ACT. Hurry, the deadline is September 11, 2001.

Georgia Tech visit

Students if you are interested in meeting with a representative from Georgia Tech, please come by room 302 on August 31, 2011 at 10:15 am. You will need a pass from either Mrs. Strickland (come by the Depot in the counseling office to get one) or from your 4th period teacher. If you have lunch, just drop on in!

100 Black Men of Atlanta College Fair

Who: 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc invites all high school students to attend
When: Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Where: Georgia World Congress Center, Building C off Northside Drive
Why: Admission and Financial Aid officials will be there from HBCUs and other colleges from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, & Tennessee
